The #FreeTommyRobinson movement in the UK and events in Charlottesville in the USA last year have understandably led to fears about the rise of the far right.
Groups like the EDL have become a blight on migrant communities, whilst the killing of Labour MP Jo Cox by a Britain First supporter in 2016 and recent attacks on trade unionists by fascist thugs show what a menace these far-right layers can pose to the labour movement.
Steve Hedley, senior assistant general secretary of the RMT union, was amongst those assaulted recently in London by attendees of a pro-Tommy Robinson demo. In this session, Steve - along with speakers from Sweden and Austria - discuss the rise of far-right movements across Europe and how we can organise to defeat them.
