Culture wars and the fight against racism

Ever since the incredible Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020, the issue of racism has been forced into the forefront of people's minds.

On top of this, the last year has seen the government ramp up its attacks on BLM and anti racists, by pitting different sections of the working class against each other. A report was published which declared no institutional racism exists in the UK, and that actually, poverty amongst white people has been ignored in favour of ethnic minorities.

It’s necessary that the labour movement stands up to these lies. But there's a lot of confusion on how to do this, and how to actually fight racism. Some are distracted by the Tories culture war, and try to fight it on their terms. The real solution is to link the fight against racism with the fight against capitalism.
